Animal Welfare
Tripots Animal Welfare & Responsible Sourcing Policy
At Tripots, we believe that good food starts with good ingredients. We are committed to sourcing our food responsibly, with a focus on high-welfare, traceable and, where possible, locally sourced ingredients.
We work with suppliers who share our approach to responsible sourcing and take animal welfare seriously. We recognise that animal welfare is an ongoing responsibility, and we aim to continually improve the standards behind the food we serve.
Our Approach
Where possible, we prioritise:
-
UK-sourced meat and animal products
-
Local and regional suppliers, particularly from the Cambridge and surrounding areas
-
High-welfare farming practices
-
Traceable ingredients and responsible supply chains
-
Suppliers who comply with applicable UK animal welfare and food safety requirements
Our beef, pork and lamb are sourced from the UK, with our beef including produce from the Suffolk and surrounding region. We work with suppliers to understand where our ingredients come from and how they are produced.
Meat & Poultry
We serve beef, pork, lamb and chicken and aim to source these from suppliers who maintain high standards of animal welfare.
Our beef includes Red Poll × Wagyu cross from Suffolk, alongside other carefully selected UK-sourced meat.
We seek to work with suppliers who can provide clear information about the origin and production of their products, and we will continue to improve the proportion of our ingredients sourced from high-welfare and local suppliers.
Eggs
We are now 100% free range across our entire egg supply (shell/ liquid/ ingredient).
Seafood
We also serve fish, prawns and other seafood. We recognise that responsible sourcing extends beyond farmed animals and are committed to working with suppliers who can provide appropriate information about the origin and sourcing of our seafood.
Continuous Improvement
We recognise that responsible sourcing is an ongoing process.
As Tripots grows, we will continue to review our suppliers and sourcing practices, with the aim of increasing the proportion of ingredients that are local, high-welfare, traceable and responsibly sourced.
We will review this policy periodically to ensure that it reflects our current sourcing practices and our continued commitment to responsible food sourcing.
