Sustainability Policy

At Tripots, we believe that good hospitality should be thoughtful not only about what is on the table, but also about the resources and people behind it.

We are committed to making practical choices that reduce our environmental impact, support responsible sourcing and contribute positively to our team and local community.

Responsible Sourcing

We prioritise local, seasonal, high-welfare and traceable ingredients wherever possible.

Our meat and animal welfare standards are outlined in our Animal Welfare Policy. We work with suppliers who share our approach to responsible sourcing and continually look for ways to improve the origin and quality of the ingredients we use.

Reducing Waste

We separate recyclable materials including glass, cardboard, cans and plastics from general waste.

Our used cooking oil is collected for recycling and repurposed for use as biofuel.

All of our takeaway packaging is compostable, and where single-use items are provided, we use biodegradable alternatives where possible.

We recognise that food waste remains an area where we can improve and will continue to look for practical ways to reduce waste as our business develops.

Energy & Water

Most of our restaurant lighting uses LED lighting, helping us reduce unnecessary energy consumption.

We also aim to use water thoughtfully and will continue to look for practical opportunities to reduce water consumption across our restaurant.

Our Restaurant

When developing our Quayside restaurant, we sought to reuse and retain existing elements where practical, rather than replacing everything unnecessarily.

We will continue to consider durability, reuse and environmental impact when maintaining or developing our spaces.

Our People & Community

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace, with fair working conditions and opportunities for our team to develop.

As part of the Cambridge community, we also hope to support local events, organisations and initiatives as Tripots grows.

Continuous Improvement

We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing process rather than a fixed goal. We will continue to review our sourcing, waste, resource use and working practices and look for practical ways to improve.
